day 26 – your fears
There are a lot of things that terrify me, spiders, snakes, scary movies (and yet I still go see them, I am a masochist), the dark (don’t laugh, I still sleep with a nightlight on), opening the door to my room and seeing a random stranger standing there…
I guess there are three things that I fear the most: not being able to say a proper farewell to someone I love, an unhappy future, and failing so badly at something that it is irreversible and unfixable.
The guilt I’d feel from any of those three would be indescribable.
day 27 – your favorite place
My bed. I legit am not joking. My bed is the best place ever. I would legit marry my pillow.
When I’m feeling tired/sleepy, I go to it for a nap. It raises my spirits if I am ever feeling upset. It’s always there for me when I study and when I need to fangirl.
The only thing it isn’t capable of doing is making food, but I guess I can pull off that aspect of our relationship
day 28 – something that you miss
I miss my childhood. Even though elementary school had its ups and downs, I miss the simplicity childhood carries. I didn’t have to worry about maintaining this thing called a gpa, looking for internships, networking/rubbing elbows with these bigwig business professionals….
Also aspects of life such as insensitive jokes, the fragility of relationships, wars, complications with the economy, the horror that sometimes presents itself on the news…It’s not that I hate responsibility, but sometimes the bliss of childhood just seems so much less tiring, y’know?
day 29 – your aspirations
I aspire to be someone that I can be happy with. I don’t plan to be perfect, but just someone that I can be content with, flaws and all.
day 30 – one last moment
I went back home for the weekend and Mom’s cooking is still the best. Even when I am lazy and attempt to cook, my cooking doesn’t come out as delicious as hers. I’m fine with it since she made me chicken and cod congee with 1000 year old egg. Omg heaven.
The only thing about going back home is that yes, I get delicious homemade food, but it also comes hand in hand with mom’s-complete-disregard-for-privacy (she barged in when I was in the bathroom earlier) and her rapid fire nagging skills (she should become a rapper with how fast she goes).
Going home, it seems like Bryan is a lot nicer to me now then say, for the last year. Facker. Though, I am concerned that he's falling prey to stereotypes and some homophobic behavior ;\ My parents aren't exactly the most open minded about gay and lesbian people (that was evidenced when my mom turned to some lesbian drama and she looked like her world was ending because two ladies were sucking face. my dad automatically assumes that any man that doesn't have interest in females are automatically "gay" ).
This was a conversation that I had with Bryan just five minutes ago:
Bryan: So...I saw that you had Trey Songz on your ipod...
Me: Yeah, I do. He's not bad. I like his songs.
Bryan: Well I don't like him.
Me: You don't like him? Or his music? Can you explain why? (he shrugs) You should have a logical reason why you don't like people. Like I'm not a fan of Miley because I feel like she's taking this "growing up" angle to mean she should dress as scantily as possible. And her voice grates my ears.
Bryan: I don't like him or his music because he's gay.
Me: ....does that affect how he sings? (Bryan shrugs again) Being gay doesn't affect his singing. You can disagree with his lifestyle but you can't say that someone is a bad singer just because he or she is gay.
Bryan: ....
Me: Yeah you think about that.
