30 day meme! I decided that as one of my New Years Goals, I should get better at expressing myself. Also, I noticed that I mostly update to complain about my life lmao.
So introductions! Um...hi? I'm Nancy, Libran Earth Dragon. Here is a photo of what I look like, for the brave ones. I'm currently a uni student,studying Finance and Information Systems in Seattle~ Not quite sure why I'm studying this to be honest, I find a lot of the people really stuffy and the work really dry...but I like learning the theories? idk, that train of thought will be for another pointless entry. I really do love learning and reading about theories, principles and concepts. I hate being tested on it though.
I'm originally from Portland, Oregon. Where most of my family resides. My family consists of my dad, mom, and two younger twin brothers. We snipe and are mean to each other all the time, but deep down we care. Most of my family is very much traditional, but there are moments where they aren't and it always throws me off.
I have a variety of interests, I'll give everything a try before I decide whether I like it or not. So of course, my preferences in music, movie, books, food, etc is all over the place. So don't be surprised if one day I start talking about something totally out of the ordinary lol. But I must say, in terms of hobbies, I am more inclined towards the artsy side---photography, pottery, origami, drawing/doodling. baking, crochet, acting, creative writing...all part of my at one point or another.
In terms of personality...I'm a lot different in person than I am online. I'm actually really shy and all sorts of awkward in real life. I can hold polite conversations, yet I get nervous easily and tend to either babble incessantly about nothing or clam up and hide in the corner of the room. OTL. But once I'm comfortable around you, no more awkward conversations *thumbs* and I might lightly poke fun at you so... >;
....have I mentioned that I'm kind of paranoid and neurotic? Well I just did. Please don't unfriend me ;A; But honestly, I panic too much and worry over the most random things. I also suck at confrontations! I will fall apart and blather like a fool .___. Working on all of this, because it gets damn stressful and distracting, but it's hard.
Bad luck is part of my life. If I go through a period where things are too good, I get really nervous and start wondering when something bad will happen. It's a vicious cycle. Which is probably why I tend to whine a bit more than I'd like, but on the flip-side, I will drop everything to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. I like to think that, since people have to deal with my paranoia on an almost daily basis, I should be the best listener ever.
Good things about me! (I'm not a complete social failure, sob), I'm pretty good at reading situations and know how to speak/write to match the mood. I'm really easygoing! It's very hard to get me really angry and riled up. I am also very straightforward. I don't really like reading in between the lines; it's confusing and misleading. Which is why I usually cut the fluff in serious conversations. Not to the point where all tact and class goes out the window tho..crikes.
Um...to end this really long ramble about myself. I adore stationary . Especially Asian notebooks and pens. I can't even begin with my collection at times. It ranges from cutesy designs to minimalist covers. My current favorite is Combine Notebook. It's compact, lightweight, inexpensive, and perfect for the amount of notes I usually take in classes.
And look, here is a completely irrelevant (well not completely irrelevant trololol) gif:
